Owl story …

Been leaving this card in secret for a long time….
It was designed and completed early June, so much in advance before my sister’s birthday which falls on July 1st. Well, I would rather start early (if possible) before work load overwhelm me and I ran out time to make something nice for her.
If you have been following my blog, I’ve been sharing a few others handmade items for my sister’s birthday. She’s such a lucky girl eh? ;) Well, it all begin with this card.
She likes OWL. I’ve been keeping this Sassafras paper collection that has cute retro colours and of course OWL! It is the ideal paper to use to create a birthday card for her. I thought of giving the card a hard cover, and like a mini zig-zag book ala card.

I planned to give this to her on her birthday … thinking that I might make it home as per scheduled. But unfortunately due to some circumstances, I have to delay my trip a few days later which lapse her birthday. Oh no… I’m going to missed it!  :S
So two days before her birthday, I had this brilliant idea to surprise her with a calendar frame! I quickly start working on the idea and rushed to the post office the very next day to mail it. I was praying hard it arrived on her birthday. Unfortunately it arrived a day earlier (fortunately it arrive) and blew the surprise away by having her opening the package before her birthday.

That’s not it … I have my backup plan.
By now you must be thinking …  “She must love giving surprises?”
Yes, I do! And I love receiving surprises too! Hehehehe …
What’s my backup plan?
The birthday present of course!
I bought her a bottle of GUCCI perfume as her present and created an OWL box for her!
So this year, she received a calendar frame, a birthday card and a bottle of perfume with OWL box :) She’s surely a happy girl this year!!!
