On the 6th Day of Chinese Lunar New Year
Pai nien at Su May’s house.
It’s once a year of old friends gathering every Chinese New Year. Although I stay close in touch with my dear friend Pei Yee, somehow for other high schoolmates we only catch up on this festive time. It was great to go ‘pai nien’ and it was something I’ve not done in many years. I love that we go home visiting, having a good chat and eating those yummy homemade cookies (which I had a hard time to resist!) at their lovely place.
Upon reaching Su May’s home, I was greeted by this gorgeous friend of mine. She look so beautiful in her green cheongsam :) Which reminded me how much of an “Aunty” I’ve turned out to be after being a mom. Gosh! I feel old, nevertheless fat!
Seeing Ee Khai, he has not change one bit! Which is good, and happy for him to keep forever young (at heart!).
While Sophia is familiar with Aiden, they are no strangers – I suppose! :)
Sophia @ 10 months 3 weeks
Aiden @ 16 months ++
With Su May’s mom, she still look the same as what I remember of aunty in high school! Now that we are mothers too, we chat like parents level! Hehehe!
On the 5th day of Chinese Lunar New Year
My very good friend came to my mom’s house to pai nien :)
Every year without fail, my best friend Lye P’ng and her family will visit me at my mom’s place except when I celebrated Chinese New Year in Singapore last year. Her son, Kai Mun who is 9 months older than Sophia has grown up so much! He walks steadily now and speaks more words and form short sentences too! He is another cutie!
