Diaper crisis!

It was 1:45am when I heard Sophia making some noises, it’s a sign of her waking up and feeding should be soon. The last feed she had was 9.30pm. After which she fell asleep and I didn’t want to disturb her deep slumber. I knew she will wake up around mid night for a feed and will continue to sleep throughout the night.

Before I feed her, I’ll get her diaper change and do hopefully do a dream feed so that she will be able to continue sleeping without a fuss … Ahh… such ideal plan, first let’s keep the room dark dim so that she is not fully alert. Took of her diaper off, wipe and lay down a new diaper.

Hubby heard her earlier, came in to check on us. He tried to comfort her, touch her chest.

“Yikes! Why is Sophia wet!”

What? Wet? Where?
I just lay a new diaper and she’s dry. Could she wet herself in her cot?

Hubby checked on the sheets and perfectly dry, we are puzzled. Hubby quickly turn on the lights, by now Sophia’s eyes are wide open being shocked by the sudden brightness. Now we clearly see what happened. She peed right after I removed her wet diaper!

Arrghhhh …!! Why you do this to mommy!

Her clothes are all soaked wet with pee and  she has been touching the soiled clothes with her hands!
Actions need to be done quickly!

1. GET HER CLEAN UP BEFORE SHE MAKES MORE MESS OR SUCK HER FINGERS AFTER CONTACTING THE SOILDED CLOTHES

2. CHANGED THE OUR BED SHEET BEFORE IT SOILED THROUGH OUR MATTRESS!

3. FEED HER A.S.A.P!

We divide our job quickly! Hubby do the sheets, and I quickly grab Sophia to the bathroom to clean her up. By now, she is contaminated all over with pee. The best way to clean her is to give her a BATH. Yup! A bath at 2am!! After a quick bath, went to the kitchen to warm milk and feed her.

She took in 1/2oz and doze off to sleep! And the diaper crisis was all over at 3:15am. Peaceful alas with a full load of laundry to do. Thank goodness hubby took care of the soiled sheets. I manage to catch my sleep right after Sophia … Zzzz …Zzzz … Zzzz …
