Loves the “mummies connect” network that was introduced by my friend Alesia! This is a great social network for all mummies to share, support and care on all issues pertaining motherhood.
Today I’ve joined their baby swimming group for infant conducted by Joanne Ho at her condo facility pool. It was very kind of Joanne to offer a free session for the babies to have a playgroup and teaching us how to train our babies to swim! She is 7 month into her pregnancy, and she is still so fit!
Sophia @ 7 months
Getting ready for her swim :)
The youngest in the group was Allysa, 3 months and mommy Cheryl.
Doing the “Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall, Humpty Dumpty had a great FALL …!!” and we drop our baby into the water. It was so much fun!
Average babies are around the same age from 7-8 months, and they are all loving the water as much as Sophia does! Some babies are first time in the pool, but show no fears at all! Sophia enjoys the swimming session very much, while I learnt a few tricks to encourage her to adapt swimming better. Sophia also gets to submerged under water for the first time today! First 2 tries was good, her eyes and mouth were open under water! But came the 3rd try, she fusses and cry. Poor girl must have swallowed some water and choke. It was a call to end the swim session after 30 minutes in the water. Sophia became irritable and hungry.
Went to the shower room to get Sophia clean up and change. Unfortunately there was no hot water and I had to gave Sophia a quick cold shower. This makes her even more upset. Sigh! It was tough handling her alone. Luckily Joo Ann joined me in the shower room. She has been tremendously helpful to take care of Sophia while I get change. My little cry terror must have torture Joo Ann’s ear drums too! When I came out, I saw Joo Ann carrying her baby Julian and Sophia in her arms! When it was my turn to take care of Julian while she gets change, Julian was a calm and well behave baby. Awww … what a big difference in personality!
After we clean up, everyone was gone. Hehehe … I guess they must have left early before the rush hour traffic starts.
I took my still crying Sophia into the car, coax her and feed her before I start driving. The last thing I want was a crying baby in a bad traffic jam. Sophia must be very hungry and sleepy … She finished up her milk within minutes and dozed off the entire trip home.
It was a nice play date for Sophia & mommy too! When we return to Singapore, there will be more swimming fun!
p/s: I’ll need to but Sophia a new swimsuit :) She has already outgrown it!
