‘Lap Chun’ the first day of Spring

This year, lap chun fell on Feb 4 at 6.22pm. It is believed that on lap chun, chi/qi energy from the earth is at its strongest and many balance uncooked eggs on flat surfaces to herald this day. And so I heard, and tried.

It takes lots of patience to keep balancing the egg to stand. As the hours goes, more and more pictures of successful eggs standing being posted on Facebook. Urgh … I need to try all the eggs that my mom have! And so it works! Some are able to stand easily than others but only when placed on a cloth.

  Not working on floor or table. Erm, maybe one or two eggs that stand for a few seconds!
