I’ve completed six trays of 7 Gypsies frame, a lovely medium to play with!
You’ll see how much fun I had playing with variety of embossing techniques and creating the stunning effects of what embossing powders and stamping can do! Check out the transformation!!!
Yummy isn’t it?
I’ve picture document each photo cards for your viewing pleasure! :) So that you’ll get to see in details the technique that was experiment on each frame. There’s lots of blending and distress powder used!! :)
The first frame on the top left has a pull out pocket with a tag card. The pocket was stamped with Paris map and lots of blending using distress inks. Dry embossing pattern on the dark brown card is so pretty that I bought one set too after the class! Most are Tim Holtz die, even yummier!
See the tiny Eiffel Tower picture? I took that picture in the cold autumn night during my first trip to Paris. I gasp when I saw the Eiffel Tower when I saw the night laser lights show. It was so magnificent and romantic as well!
Again, another beautiful die from Tim Holtz’s Alterations, distressed in gold embossing powder. I also love the Tim Holtz stamp here, very meaningful phase ;) Unfortunately not available for sale anymore.
Heart with wings can fly!! This is a cute one! The heart die, misted in red and covered with rock candy stickles.
The heart shape act as a weight to keep the accordion from flipping out.
When the heart is lifted with the lace ribbon, the accordion mini album will reveal some of the pictures of my favourite architectural building in Paris ;)
Just in case you are wondering where to print photo in such small sizes in this mini accordion album, it is printed at home with laser printer on a matt A4 art paper and reduced size to fit into the size I wanted. It’s cheap way to print pictures for your project if the sizes you need is tiny small. Because professional photo shops do not develop unusual sizes like these.
I love this bird cage die from Tim Holtz and I want to have it!!!!! Pretty isn’t it? Sadly the stock has ran out, and I’ll have to wait for the next shipment … Probably will reach in July (earliest), that’s if US have enough stock. Darn!
Crumpled paper are distress with ink then painted with crackle paint over it. The effect, totally aged!
Last but not lease …
Sizzix flower die painted with crackle paint will curled up naturally once dry, creating a nice 3D pop out flower.
I wanted to add more embellishment on this final piece using Tim Holtz vintage key and Making Memories charm. I found this beaded chain in some of my sewing stash which work perfectly to link favourite charms together but unfortunately it was in shinny silver!
:( To match the silver beaded chain to my project, I’ve inked the beaded chain with clear Versamark ink and use Tim Holtz distress powder in walnut stain. After heating it, the beaded chain appeared rusty and aged! Lovely transformation isn’t it?
I also did the same technique from the beaded chain, I’ve also apply this to create a worn out look on the wood frame and handle. The Tim Holtz distress powder has a very sandy effect when you touch it. It look so rustic eh? ;)
Here’s how the frame looks like before …
I love this scrapbooking project a lot! It’s really different and very fun tools to play with! Thanks to Sharon for sharing with us her embossing techniques that are very useful. After I’ve get my hands on Tim Holtz Sizzix die … I’m now new die heart fan of Sizzix Big Shot!!!!!!!
Thanks for visiting, till next time … Please leave your comments! Cheers!
