In search for a cake & cupcakes …

Been doing some research on nice fondant cakes and cupcakes bakery in Singapore for the past two days. Well, it’s for my friends baby shower this weekend.

This party was organised by Reshma, a friend of Jackie’s hubby. I’ve volunteered to bring a cake and also cupcakes for the event. Although I would like to test my skills in baking cupcakes for my dearest friend, I’m handicap in Singapore without a proper oven! So the thought of baking may as well be put off until I have a fully equip kitchen …

The search begins with my trusted helper - google …

I’ve shortlisted a few homebakers and confectionery for a fondant cake with cute deco designs and some simple cupcakes with vanilla frosting. Since both preggy ladies are giving birth to a boy, the theme colours will be in blue and white.

I’ve concluded to assign “cup cake divinity” to bake a small fondant cake and also cupcakes for the baby shower party. I think it’s easier to let one baker do all the baking instead of having separate orders in cake and cupcakes.

After much research (from Flickr.com) on the types of cake design that I like, I’ve narrowed it down to this simple bow with baby booties and a banner fondant/gum paste cake! Isn’t this adorable? ;)

I’ve spoken to Annie from “CUP CAKE DIVINITY” about my cake orders and emailed her the design that I like earlier this afternoon. Am now waiting for her quote … We have 5 days before the party!

My budget is around $100+ for a fondant cake, so hopefully this design that I like is doable within the range. *fingers crossed*

As for cupcakes, I wanted simple swirl frosting with some sprinkles as design.
