Christmas eve morning begins with a trip to HEB & SAM’s for some last minute (really last minute!) grocery shopping! All Christmas meals shopping was done by hubby and his mom, while I checked out ingredients for baby food puree at the organic section. Sophia has been on jar baby food for a week now. Too much preservatives in her diet and it’s time I make her some healthy and nutritious baby food. That’ll be my itinerary for Christmas morning ~ cooking!
Lunch Brunch was at my all time favourite family restaurant – Denny’s! Love their hearty breakfast selections, all American style! A good kick start for more last minute shopping! I still have not buy any gifts for them yet … Yeah, so it’s last minute.
Towards the end of the day, we were just running out of time. It’s Christmas Eve, the last day where I can bring Sophia to meet Santa. I wanted to have a photo of Sophia on Santa’s lap, you know those 1st moment when a child meets Santa Clause for the 1st time? But stores close at 6pm and we are still no where near Memorial City Mall at 5pm. When I called the mall, they already stop the line to meet Santa. I was so disappointed, and sad too. Hubby wasn’t giving up and pushes that we still go and give it a try. When we reached the Santa photo booth, they were doing last call. And we were the last 4 sets of parents and kids! My face lifted up then! Yessssshh!!!
But Sophia was asleep! Darn …
The lady at the booth told us that it will still be a cute shot with a sleeping baby. And so we went ahead.
As soon as Sophia on Santa’s lap, she woke up and in daze – CLICK! Yup! That’s it! Her first meet the Santa photo* was taken!
*will post this photo when the online photo download is available.
Finally my final stop ends at Toy’R Us for Sophia’s gift. The store was like in war zone when I got in! Most toys were swept clear and out of stock. Including the V-Tech walker that I really like to buy for Sophia :( Anyways got her another toy which I’ve also been eyeing for some time. Hopefully she’ll enjoy the toy as much as I thought she will!
When we finally got home, Sophia was already knocked out from the drive home.
Luckily hubby was the master chef for preparing Christmas eve dinner, leaving me some time to clean up Sophia and put her to bed.
