We stopped in TOKYO for 2 nights to break these long flights back to Houston to make it easier travelling with Sophia. This time around, we stayed at the Sheraton Grande Bay Resort away from the city and also to saves us some money by making use of the weekend FREE night stay from hubby’s SPG membership privilege. The room design was a little old, but very comfortable and spacious. We had an upgrade due to hubby’s SPG Platinum benefits to Presidential Suite! Oooh! Just the space we needed to spread our luggage and stroller! Plus a kitchenette for convenience to wash and sterilise bottles.
Although check-in has a little hiccup of bad service or shall I put it as no service? There was no one to help us with our luggage and concierge was missing in action. Only one staff (old Japanese lady) came running around helping to search for trolley cart. It was just one of the rare episode of Japanese bad service, as far as our experience, Japanese has very attentive service.
After checking in, it was already late in the evening. Luckily we had dinner at the airport before hoping on to the hotel shuttle bus. We took a short nap, and bundled up for a quick shopping trip at Tokyo Disneyland since our resort are within the Disney Resort monorail loop. The souvenirs selection was pretty disappointing. I was expecting a lot more interesting products and stuffs for Sophia. The last time we were there in 2007, hubby and I was tempted to buy off everything in the whole store – if we have $$! Everything was so nice and cutesy! On a good note, this time we didn't spend much there. ;)
Sophia @ 9 months 2 weeks
All bundled up on the train ride in Tokyo.Like mother, like daughter … Both curious lookers! :)
Taking a stroller around the Disney line was convenient with lift service easily available upon departure from the monorail. But out into the city, was another story.
The view from our room was pretty amazing, facing the bay with a glimpse of Mt Fuji on our far right. Our room was facing east, the morning sun greetings with the glare from the sea water reflecting to our balcony will surely set your wake up time early!
